Scott Chisholm Photography bio picture
  • Welcome to my blog!

I am Scott Chisholm and I have a passion for capturing images of people and the world around me. When I was 18 years old my mother gave me my first camera and in doing so she also gave me the gift of photography. I became instantly hooked on seeing life's greatest gifts through the lens of my camera.

My goal is to bring out the "real you" in the images that I take. I personally shoot, process and review all the photos. I generally work alone - just you and me and the location we select. I love what I do and that's why I do it.

My style is distinct, modern and often journalistic. The images that I take are fun, real and capture the personality of my subjects. Whether it's adventure sports or wedding photography, I capture key moments to make them last a lifetime. No two clients are alike, therefore no two sessions are alike. Each session and image is truly unique.

I look forward to working with you in capturing your images of a lifetime.

Please check back often as my blog is new and I will continue to add posts from the past few years.

Annamay Pierse World Record

University of Toronto Pool, March 14, 2009; Canadian Winter Nationals.

I was in Toronto for a series of photography workshops and I was staying with an old room mate who was then a swim coach with University of Calgary. Actually I lived with a houseful of U of C coaches. Anyway, as I walked on deck to chat with Bill Humby, Head Coach for University of Alberta his first words were, “we could have a world record swim in 15 minutes”, “Annamay is doing her 200 Breast”.

Although you could feel the energy before her race, it was nothing compared to when Annamay hit the water. With every stroke it was like a huge roar from a drum. I have never felt energy like this before and Annamy took that energy from the sold out crowd and made every stroke perfect and powered to a roaring WORLD RECORD.

The following set of images are from Annamay Pierse’s World Record 200 Breast Stroke, 2:17:50.

Amanda & Kelly’s Wedding

Amanda & Kelly were married on August 14 and what an amazing day it was. Their engagement session and wedding day was fun, spontaneous and filled with family and good friends. The setting for their reception was literally in their back yard on the lake. Enjoy the slideshow of images from the engagement session and wedding.

2011 Special Olympics Ontario Winter Games

What an experience for me to be a part of the 2011 Special Olympics that were hosted here in Thunder Bay. My good friend Alan Dickson and I were the official photographers for the events along with John Sims and Ian Thompson.

My time was filled at the beautiful Kamview Nordic Centre capturing the Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing. With the temperatures hovering in the -32C range the first day outside events were delayed until 3:00pm so I spent some time photographing the Speed Skating.
